Braintrain Academy

If you want your child to graduate with an accredited Braintrain Academy diploma and transcript, they must physically attend school at Braintrain Academy.  Outside work (dual credit, etc.) will be listed on the Braintrain Academy transcript with information as to where it was completed.  See below for more information regarding Braintrain Academy.

Braintrain Academy would best be described as a “hybrid” school.  We are a small private school (K-12) that has been in operation since March of 1995.  We work with home schooled students as well as graduating our own students.  Each student’s plan is custom designed based on their test results and future plans.  Students come for a wide range of reasons.  Language Arts and Math are frequently addressed in one-on-one learning situations while small group classes address social studies, science and electives.  The one-on-one instruction allows students to move as slowly or as fast as they need to for mastery.  Students who are ready for college preparatory work, including ACT/SAT preparation are allowed to move forward.  The small group classes enable us to teach required content as well as specific skills – focusing, asking appropriate questions, taking notes, studying for tests, etc. to better prepare our students for learning in multiple situations. 

We are not accredited by the Texas Education Agency.  We choose not to be because if we were, we would not have the flexibility to meet the needs of individual students.  We are accredited by the National Accreditation Agency.  It is like a “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.”  They verify that we actually do what we say we are doing.  Many of our students complete dual credit courses at local community colleges (Dallas County Community College District, Navarro Junior College, Tarrant County Community College District, etc.) during their junior and senior years here.  After graduation, the majority of our students choose to continue their educations.  This includes trade schools, two-year institutions and four year institutions.  We currently have former graduates attending the University of Arkansas, The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A & M, Southern Methodist University, Curry College in Boston, MA, etc.  On the other hand, we have students who have chosen to go straight into the world of work and of whom we are very proud.  One young man that comes to mind is serving as a master plumber’s apprentice and one year after graduation already owns his first rental property.  He is a successful entrepreneur!
